After majoring in biology at Rhodes College in Memphis, I received my doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. I moved to Charleston in 2009 and have been practicing the last 9 year in Summerville. My husband and I married 8 years ago and have 2 beautiful children, Calhoun and Kennedy. After battling breast cancer, I have decided to follow my dreams and open my own practice. I love what I do and you will experience that when you come in for an exam.

We drive 2 hours each way just to see Dr. Kirk (and do some shopping at Costco). She gives a thorough exam, and has time for as many questions as you have for her. My vision has never been better. We have been seeing her for a few years and plan on seeing her many more.

I received a thorough exam this afternoon. Loved the no dilation of the eyes! She is professional and easy to talk to about issues. I definitely recommend Dr. Kirk . I chose glasses and they will be ready quickly and the price is wonderful.

She took her time with me and answered my many questions. The machine she has to examine the retina without dilation is wonderful. I learned things about my retinas that I had not known. Great exam.

Dr Kirk is very knowledgeable and took her time to make sure my prescription is correct. I’ll definitely see her again in the future. She also has a machine to take a picture behind the eyes without needing to dilate your eyes. Loved that! Her assistant was wonderful as well.

I would recommend Dr. Kirk to anyone. She and her staff are very professional and personable. They treat you with respect and never hurry you away. I was in and out in much less time and didn't need to deal with the vision challenges of dilation, the dark temp glasses etc. Great appointment!

So after my second visit, I’m convinced that Dr Kirk is the area’s subject matter expert (SME) on multi-focal contact lenses!! If you want honest advice from an optometrist who will give hou all your options, visit her ASAP!!!

For 9 years I've been wearing daily contacts and was told that I had to sacrifice distance so I could focus on up close computer work. Imagine my surprise when Dr. Kirk tells me that I can have both, simply by switching contacts. Honestly, I'm a little upset at my old optometrist ... and I am OVERJOYED with not only the service I received when I first walked in, but also Dr. Kirk's knowledge and professionalism. She is a lifesaver by solving this problem. It was amazing walking around being able to read things 20' away and still read my phone... even seeing the license plates in front of me driving... I've not been able to do that for years with my old contacts. I'm left wondering why my old optometrist knew these issues and kept me in the same contacts? Complete and thorough exam with east to understand explanations of what is correct and incorrect with eyes and corrections to be made. Dr Kirk,for me,offers the best eye exam and gets it right first time. Other eye doctors had me going back several times for re-exams when prescribed glasses were incorrect. I highly recommend Dr Kirk

A follow up to my last recommendation. Dr. Kirk was thorough in determining which contac lens prescription I preferred. I tested two different scripts with follow up exams so I could make the right decision. Very happy with my new prescription... I can now read road signs! ... and also read normal type print without needing my old drug store reading glasses. Very satisfied.

I recommend Dr Kirk. She was very professional and competent. This was my first visit with Dr Kirk, and my first time using an in house Costco service. I appreciated her ability to pick up on my vision needs based on her attentive questioning and the conversation during my visit. For example, I use multi-focal contact lenses, and yet when I mentioned I wanted prescription readers since I need to use them when I wear my contacts Dr. Kirk immediately said that’s not right... and she gave me a different brand of multi-focal lenses to try for a week to see if I notice a change. I was impressed with Dr Kirks attention to detail.

Renée 07/01.2020 Came to Dr. Kirk 2 years ago, shortly after the opening of her practice at Costco. Today was my second time and, like the first time I was received on time and had communicated via e-mail about my upcoming appointment. Dr. Kirk was very efficient while going through testings. She explained in a very clear way what were my alternatives for the future. Great experience and great staff.

Dr. Kirk is a compassionate, caring doctor. She diagnosed duke with severe allergies at my very first visit. That diagnosis has changed my life for the better. I knew right then she would always be the optometrist for me and my family.

Dr. Kirk is a pleasure. Very efficient and my husband and I were pleased with our prescriptions. I have multi-focal contacts and have been extremely pleased with my results. She has a great receptionist, also. I would highly recommend her.

My family had to switch doctors due to insurance last year I think. Our former doctor recommended Dr. Kirk. Our family has been very pleased with our switch. The location can't be beat and having the Costco optical department near, ordering our glasses has been an easy switch too. We have been ordering our teenager's contacts online and they ship to the house when we need them. Dr. Kirk also has a very great "chairside manner." She has been great with us adults and our kids. All of the staff you will encounter from beginning to end have been super amazing! I have been recommending this practice to others and will continue to do so!

Dr Kirk is wonderful! She did a great job fitting me with multi focal contacts. I no longer need readers! She listens to you and makes adjustments based on what you report. She also has digital imaging so you no longer have to use the drops to dilate your eyes which is great! I would highly recommend her!
